One of the biggest challenges facing engineering employers isn’t finding engineers. It’s finding engineers with the right combination of skills.

Across industry, a combined mechanical and electrical skillset is increasingly valuable but notoriously difficult to recruit.

Employers can find themselves recruiting a mechanical engineering graduate and then investing significant time and resource developing their knowledge of electrical engineering, control systems and automation. Or doing the same in reverse.

Gower College Swansea hosts Microsoft Innovation Day

Gower College Swansea recently welcomed Microsoft and industry experts to Tycoch Campus for a flagship Microsoft Innovation Day, a key milestone in the College’s growing relationship with the global technology leader.

The Innovation Day forms part of a wider programme of activities between Gower College Swansea and Microsoft, and through a series of Microsoft-focused interventions, the College has been working to bring cutting-edge digital technologies and insights to learners and staff, helping to embed innovation and digital skills across all areas of curriculum.

It’s graduation time for College’s HE learners!

Over 100 Higher Education students from Gower College Swansea have attended a special graduation event at the Brangwyn Hall.

The students donned their caps and gowns to celebrate their achievement in higher level courses such as accountancy, business, science, engineering, childcare, holistics, housing and management.

Over 100 Higher Education students from Gower College Swansea recently attended a special graduation event at the Great Hall on Swansea University's Bay Campus.

The students were celebrating achievement in subjects as diverse as accountancy, engineering, leadership and management, sports massage therapies, hair and beauty management, childcare, and health and social care services.

Gower College Swansea students have attended a special graduation ceremony at the city’s National Waterfront Museum to celebrate the achievement of their higher education and professional qualifications.

Almost 100 students donned their cap and gowns to collect certificates in a range of disciplines including AAT Accounting, Engineering, Hair and Beauty, IT, Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Business, Sport and Leadership and Management.
