College introduces innovative new User Centred Design apprenticeship
Gower College Swansea is delighted to announce the availability of a brand new User Centred Design apprenticeship pathway. This new route has been designed to meet the needs of employers and skill gaps in the local area, allowing learners to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst working and learning.

Apprenticeship open evening and information sessions for Apprenticeship Week
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2023 is the 16th annual celebration of apprenticeships in the UK and brings together businesses and apprentices to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy. It coincides with Apprenticeship Week Wales (AWW) which aims to celebrate and promote apprenticeships in Wales as a valuable pathway into work or a new career.
College put me on a path to helping save lives with data
A love of data is helping one Gower College Swansea alumni to play an integral role within the NHS, after her college supported her to pursue a dream apprenticeship despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.
Laurice Keogh (19) from Loughor, Swansea, has wanted to pursue a career in data from a young age. Today, that drive has seen her start a career as an apprentice with Digital Health and Care Wales, helping to change the way health and care services are delivered.

With Apprenticeship Week Wales underway (Feb 7-13), Welsh businesses are being urged to rethink existing recruitment strategies to best manage future workforces.
Mark Jones, Principal of Gower College Swansea and Vaughan Gething, the Minister for the Economy, are asking Welsh businesses to consider recruiting apprentices in a bid to fill vacancies.
Gower College Swansea scoops a further two major apprenticeship awards
Gower College Swansea has been awarded the coveted titles of ‘UK Digital Apprenticeship Provider of the Year’ and ‘UK Engineering and Manufacturing Apprenticeship Provider of the Year’ at the FE Week and AELP AAC National Apprenticeship Awards. The College was the only Welsh provider to win an award and the only provider in the UK to secure two awards at the event.
Gower College Swansea apprenticeship scheme named best in UK
Gower College Swansea won Apprenticeship Programme of the Year at the annual Tes FE Awards, which recognises the best further education organisations supporting learners across the UK. Tes, formerly known as the Times Educational Supplement, is one of the leading media outlets for the education sector.
Gower College Swansea becomes first educational partner of The UK Fashion & Textile Association in Wales
The first fashion and textile apprentices in Wales successfully qualified at Gower College Swansea last year, with more set to follow this year. The College is the only pan-Wales, Welsh Government approved provider for Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeships levels 2-4, and has recently become the first educational partner of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) in Wales.
