Mae bron 30 o fyfyrwyr o Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi cael cynnig lle yn rhai o golegau a phrifysgolion drama mwyaf nodedig yn y DU.

“Mae ein myfyrwyr y Celfyddydau Perfformio wedi cael y deuddeg mis mwyaf rhagorol ac mae’r straeon hyn am ddilyniant llwyddiannus yn ffordd wych o orffen y flwyddyn academaidd,” dywedodd Rheolwr y Maes Dysgu, Lucy Hartnoll.

All the world’s a stage for GCS students

Almost 30 students from Gower College Swansea have been offered places at some of the UK’s most prestigious drama colleges and universities.

“Our Performing Arts department has had the most amazing twelve months and these stories of successful progression are a wonderful way to end the academic year,” says Learning Area Manager Lucy Hartnoll.

Mae’r myfyrwyr – o amrywiaeth o gyrsiau BTEC y Celfyddydau Perfformio, y Celfyddydau Cynhyrchu a Safon Uwch Drama – yn dod i ddiwedd eu cyfnod ar gampws Gorseinon ac yn edrych ymlaen at y cam nesaf yn eu gyrfaoedd.

Students head to UK's top performance colleges

Gower College Swansea students have secured places at some of the most in-demand acting and theatre schools in the country.

The students – from a range of BTEC Performing Arts, Production Arts and A Level Drama courses – are coming to the end of their time at the Gorseinon campus and are looking forward to the next stage in their careers.

'Revolting Pirates' at the National Waterfront Museum - 1 April

After a hugely successful tour that has seen them visit 25 local schools and perform in front of an estimated 4000 children, our first year BTEC Performing / Production Arts students are taking their 'Revolting Pirates' show to The National Waterfront Museum on Saturday 1 April.

There are FREE PERFORMANCES at 1pm and 3pm.

The feedback from the schools on social media has been excellent - so don't miss your chance to see this show for yourselves!

Theatre students' progression success

Technical Theatre students from Gower College Swansea recently spent the afternoon in workshops with Andy Franks, Production Director at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

The workshops covered opportunities in the technical theatre industry, communication skills for production meetings, and a very entertaining ‘show cueing’ exercise.

Following the workshop, four of the students were interviewed for places at Mountview – and all were successful!
