College wins tennis award

Gower College Swansea has won an award from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Wales region.

The college’s Sport department was one of three finalists in the Education category at the 2015 Tennis Wales Awards, which was held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on 20 February. This was in recognition of the wide range of tennis activities the college organises throughout the year as part of the wider curriculum.

Enterprise Manager shortlisted for major award

Gower College Swansea’s Enterprise Education Manager Sue Poole has been shortlisted for a major award which recognises her expertise and enthusiastic approach to the national enterprise agenda.

Laura changes her life through learning

A 21-year-old from Swansea who says learning 'saved her life' has won a major award.

Gower College Swansea student Laura John, from Townhill, was presented with the Young Adult Learner Award at the recent Inspire! Awards, as part of Adult Learners’ Week 2015.

The talented artist was recognised for turning her life around after having a difficult start that led her to self-harm and drugs.
