Arddangos sgiliau o’r radd flaenaf

Mae Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe yn ymuno â WorldSkills UK i arddangos sgiliau o’r radd flaenaf.

Roedd myfyrwyr yng Ngholeg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi dangos eu sgiliau peirianneg electronig o’r radd flaenaf mewn digwyddiad hyfforddiant rhithwir gyda myfyrwyr o bob rhan o Tsieina. 

Y digwyddiad oedd y cyntaf o’i fath i gael ei gynnal yng Nghymru, ac fe’i trefnwyd gan WorldSkills UK, yr elusen addysg a sgiliau, gan gefnogi ei raglen i gyfnewid arfer gorau mewn datblygu sgiliau gyda gwledydd ledled y byd.

A demonstration of world-class skills

Gower College Swansea joins forces with WorldSkills UK to demonstrate world-class skills.

Students at Gower College Swansea demonstrated their world-class electronic engineering skills when they took part in a virtual training event with students from across China. 

The event was the first of its kind to be held in Wales, and was organised by WorldSkills UK, the education and skills charity, supporting its programme to exchange best practice in skills development with countries around the world.

Mae 14 o brentisiaid a gweithwyr proffesiynol ifanc gorau’r DU wedi cael eu dewis i gystadlu yn erbyn crème de la crème eu cyfoedion Ewropeaidd ym mhrawf pwysau sgiliau mawr cyntaf y cyfnod ôl-Brexit - EuroSkills.

Rhys Watts, Prentis Technegydd Peirianneg Electronig yng Ngholeg Gŵyr Abertawe, yw’r ieuengaf o’r tîm, sy’n cynrychioli’r DU yn y categori Prototeipio Electroneg.

Gower College Swansea student makes team UK line up for WorldSkills’ European Showdown

Fourteen of the UK’s best young apprentices and professionals have been selected to take on the crème de la crème of their European peers in the first big skills pressure test of the post Brexit era – EuroSkills.

Rhys Watts, Electronic Engineering Apprentice Technician at Gower College Swansea, is the youngest of the team, representing the UK in the Electronics Prototyping category.

Pum myfyriwr yn cystadlu yn Rhaglen Ddoniau WorldSkills

Mae pum myfyriwr o Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi ennill lleoedd yng Ngharfan Hir WorldSkills ar ôl dod i’r brig yn eu meysydd yn y Rownd Derfynol Genedlaethol ym mis Tachwedd.

Roedd Liam Hughes, Ben Lewis, Rhys Watts a Nathan Evans yn bedwar o’r pum enillydd yn y categori Electroneg Ddiwydiannol, ac enillodd Paulina Skoczek le ar gyfer Gwasanaethau Bwyty.

Five students enter the WorldSkills Talent Programme

Five students from Gower College Swansea have won places in the WorldSkills Long Squad after coming top in their fields in the National Finals in November.

Liam Hughes, Ben Lewis, Rhys Watts and Nathan Evans were four of the five winners in the Industrial Electronics category, while Paulina Skoczek won a place for Restaurant Services.

Impressive WorldSkills medal haul for Gower College Swansea

The UK’s best young apprentices and vocational students have been crowned the nations’ No.1 in a glittering ceremony in Birmingham.

WorldSkills UK LIVE, which attracted more than 80,000 young people to the NEC, was the backdrop for the National Finals of WorldSkills UK’s Competitions and saw more than 500 young people compete in over 70 different disciplines. 

Taking part in WorldSkills UK Competitions equips young people with the world-class skills needed to help UK businesses better compete globally.

Llwyddiant ysgubol i Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe yng nghystadlaethau Worldskills

Mae prentisiaid ifanc a myfyrwyr galwedigaethol gorau’r DU wedi cael eu henwi yn Rhif 1 y genedl mewn seremoni ddisglair yn Birmingham.

WorldSkills UK LIVE, a ddenodd fwy nag 80,000 o bobl ifanc i’r NEC, oedd cyd-destun Rownd Derfynol Genedlaethol Cystadlaethau WorldSkills UK a welodd fwy na 500 o bobl ifanc yn cystadlu mewn dros 70 o ddisgyblaethau gwahanol. 

Mae cymryd rhan mewn cystadlaethau WorldSkills UK yn rhoi i bobl ifanc y sgiliau o’r radd flaenaf sydd eu hangen i helpu busnesau’r DU i gystadlu’n well yn fyd-eang.

Coleg yn dathlu Medaliwn Rhagoriaeth i Tom

Yn ystod digwyddiad cystadleuaeth WorldSkills Kazan 2019 yn ddiweddar, o’r 19 o fedalau a enillwyd gan Team UK roedd dim llai na chwech ohonynt wedi dod o Gymru.

Ymhlith enillwyr y medalau roedd Collette Gorvett, a astudiodd Letygarwch ac Arlwyo yng Ngholeg Gŵyr Abertawe cyn cael ei chyflogi gan The Ritz yn Llundain. Roedd Collette wedi cystadlu yn y categori Gwasanaethau Bwyty, gan greu argraff ar y beirniaid gyda’i doniau gwneud moctêls, mise en place bwyty a bwyta mewn steil, i ennill Medaliwn Rhagoriaeth.

College celebrates Medallion of Excellence for Tom

During the recent WorldSkills Kazan 2019 competition event, no less than six of the 19 medals won by Team UK came from Wales.

Among the medal winners was Collette Gorvett, who studied Hospitality and Catering at Gower College Swansea before being snapped up by The Ritz in London. Collette competed in the Restaurant Services category, where she impressed the judges with her talents in making mocktails, restaurant mise en place and fine dining, and was eventually awarded a coveted Medallion of Excellence.
