Introducing the Sketty Hall Business School Advisory Board – Shaping the Future

Sketty Hall Business School has announced the formation of its Advisory Board – key industry figures who will help shape the future of education and training across South Wales and beyond.

With the support of the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, Gower College Swansea has recently transformed the much loved Georgian building into a contemporary Business School.

Gower College Swansea brightens up community in partnership with local company and councillors

Gower College Swansea has recently funded the painting of three telecom boxes near their campuses, two at Sketty Green and one at Tycoch.

The project, in partnership with local Councillors Mike Day and Cheryl Philpott, aims to improve the community feeling around the campuses. The work was carried out by Ffion Nolwenn, a past student of the College from local company, Fresh Creative Co.

Redevelopment of Sketty Hall continues

Work to transform Sketty Hall into a fully-fledged Business School is progressing well.

While Gower College Swansea remains closed for face-to-face teaching and learning, its Estates department has been busy behind the scenes ensuring that the refurbishment of the Grade II listed building continues.

Most of the new electrics have now been installed, and painting and decorating work is taking place across the ground floor.

Historic Sketty Hall set to benefit from brand new renovation plans

Gower College Swansea’s Sketty Hall is set for renovation under proposed new development plans.

The Grade II listed building, nestled in beautiful grounds close to Singleton Park, will be repurposed as a Business School, home to a wide range of professional courses as well as higher-level qualifications and degree apprenticeships.

Blue plaque unveiled at Sketty Hall

The man who oversaw the creation of the world-renowned Cambrian Pottery has been honoured with a blue plaque at Sketty Hall, the Swansea landmark he once owned.

The blue plaque was unveiled in honour of Lewis Weston Dillwyn, also an eminent botanist, on 2 July.

Dillwyn was born in 1778. His father, a Pennsylvanian Quaker, returned to Britain the year before during Philadelphia’s worst period in the American War of Independence. He was a vociferous anti-slavery campaigner and toured England and South Wales in his work for the Anti-Slavery Committee.
