Innovation Fund enables exciting STEM research

Gower College Swansea students are embarking on a range of exciting STEM research projects thanks to the Innovation Fund and EESW. The projects have allowed students to collaborate with Tidal Lagoon (Swansea Bay) plc and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water to find solutions to genuine problems faced by industry.

A Swansea-based, family-run firm has teamed up with Gower College Swansea to nurture the next generation of engineering talent.

GLT Exports, which manufactures fire, gas and emergency alarm systems, has employed four Digital Technology students fresh from the Tycoch campus to work in its city-based premises and put through a supportive training programme.

Digital Technology students head to Big Bang UK

A group of Digital Technology students at Gower College Swansea have been selected by the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) to attend the Big Bang Fair UK.

Corey Nixon, Christopher Protheroe, Chantelle Simpson and Declan Wells will attend the event at the Birmingham NEC in March 2015, one of just 15 groups from around the UK to be invited.
