College launches HE+ for new academic year

Gower College Swansea has welcomed over 250 learners to the Gorseinon campus for the launch of the HE+ programme* for 2017/18.

Gower College Swansea, at the invitation of and in collaboration with, the University of Cambridge, is the ‘hub’ institution in the Swansea HE+ Consortium, working with the seven state sixth-form schools in the City and County of Swansea.

More GCS students heading to Russell Group universities

Students from Gower College Swansea are bucking the trend of two recent national reports.

The first, the figures released by the admissions body UCAS, showed that a quarter of Welsh constituencies have less than 25% of 18 year olds going to university – with Swansea West and Swansea East named as being under 25%, Gower only slightly above, and with Cardiff the highest at 47%.

International students tour Cambridge University

A group of International students from Gower College Swansea recently visited Cambridge.

The students stayed at Churchill College and attended application seminars and subject masterclasses. In addition, they visited other Cambridge colleges and were given tours by former Gower College Swansea students who are currently studying at the University of Cambridge.

Congratulations to our 2016 HE graduates

Over 100 Higher Education students from Gower College Swansea recently attended a special graduation event at the Great Hall on Swansea University's Bay Campus.

The students were celebrating achievement in subjects as diverse as accountancy, engineering, leadership and management, sports massage therapies, hair and beauty management, childcare, and health and social care services.
