This course is for graduates and non-graduates who want to teach in the post-compulsory education and training sector. If you want to teach a wide range of learners aged 16+, in colleges, training organisations, prisons, voluntary and adult community organisations, this is the course for you..

Relevant qualifications: a minimum of a Level 3 in the area you wish to teach. You should also have Level 2 qualification in English and maths (or be working towards them).

The first year is made up of four modules:
- preparing to teach
- learning and applying pedagogy
- planning and assessment
- professional practice 1
The second year has three modules:
- enhancing, learning, teaching and assessment
- the role of ICT in FE and blended learning
- professional practice 2
Students will need to undertake teaching practice of a minimum of 70 hours each year and must have this arranged before enrolling on the course.
Assessment is based on written assignments, presentations and actual teaching.
You will then be invited for an interview and, if successful, you will be offered a place on the course.
