Coleg yn dathlu medalwyr

Mae 23 o fyfyrwyr Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi ennill medalau fel rhan o’r set ddiweddar o ddigwyddiadau CystadleuaethSgiliauCymru.

Mae CystadleuaethSgiliauCymru yn cynnwys cyfres o gystadlaethau sgiliau lleol, sydd wedi’u halinio â WorldSkills ac anghenion economi Cymru, wedi’u hariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru ac sy’n cael eu rhedeg gan rwydwaith pwrpasol o golegau, darparwyr dysgu seiliedig ar waith a sefydliadau dan arweiniad cyflogwyr.

College celebrates medal winners

23 students from Gower College Swansea have achieved medals as part of the recent set of SkillsCompetitionWales events.

SkillsCompetitionWales consists of a series of local skills competitions, aligned to WorldSkills and the needs of the Welsh economy, funded by Welsh Government and run by a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations.

Mae saith myfyriwr o Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi ennill medalau yng nghategori y Cyfryngau a Chreadigol  Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru.

Llongyfarchiadau i Pariyah, band sy’n cynnwys Jasmin Eagles, Dylan Hodges, Alexa Jones-Young, Matthew Thirwell ac Eleri Van Block yn y gystadleuaeth Cerddoriaeth Boblogaidd; Leah Jones yn y gystadleuaeth Marchnata Gweledol a Wiktoria Nebka yn y gystadleuaeth Dylunio a Thechnoleg Ffasiwn.

Media medal haul for Gower College Swansea

Seven Gower College Swansea students have medalled in the Media and Creative category of Skills Competition Wales.

Congratulations to Pariyah, a band consisting of Jasmin Eagles, Dylan Hodges, Alexa Jones-Young, Matthew Thirwell and Eleri Van Block in the Popular Music competition; Leah Jones in the Visual Merchandising competition and Wiktoria Nebka in the Fashion Design and Technology competition.

Impressive WorldSkills medal haul for Gower College Swansea

The UK’s best young apprentices and vocational students have been crowned the nations’ No.1 in a glittering ceremony in Birmingham.

WorldSkills UK LIVE, which attracted more than 80,000 young people to the NEC, was the backdrop for the National Finals of WorldSkills UK’s Competitions and saw more than 500 young people compete in over 70 different disciplines. 

Taking part in WorldSkills UK Competitions equips young people with the world-class skills needed to help UK businesses better compete globally.

Llwyddiant ysgubol i Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe yng nghystadlaethau Worldskills

Mae prentisiaid ifanc a myfyrwyr galwedigaethol gorau’r DU wedi cael eu henwi yn Rhif 1 y genedl mewn seremoni ddisglair yn Birmingham.

WorldSkills UK LIVE, a ddenodd fwy nag 80,000 o bobl ifanc i’r NEC, oedd cyd-destun Rownd Derfynol Genedlaethol Cystadlaethau WorldSkills UK a welodd fwy na 500 o bobl ifanc yn cystadlu mewn dros 70 o ddisgyblaethau gwahanol. 

Mae cymryd rhan mewn cystadlaethau WorldSkills UK yn rhoi i bobl ifanc y sgiliau o’r radd flaenaf sydd eu hangen i helpu busnesau’r DU i gystadlu’n well yn fyd-eang.

Pobl Ifanc o Gymru wedi’u henwi ymysg y gorau yn y byd mewn cystadleuaeth sgiliau ryngwladol

Mae pobl ifanc dalentog o bob cwr o Gymru wedi’u cydnabod fel arbenigwyr o safon byd yng nghystadleuaeth Worldskills International yn Rwsia.

Dyma gystadleuaeth sgiliau mwya’r byd ac fe’i cynhaliwyd dros bedwar diwrnod yn Kazan gyda phobl ifanc o dros 63 o wledydd yn cystadlu i ennill medalau yn eu sgiliau dewisol.

Eleni, roedd y tîm o 37 o’r DU yn cynnwys saith cystadleuydd o Gymru, y nifer uchaf hyd yn hyn. Enillodd Tîm y DU ddwy fedal aur, un arian ac un efydd gyda 15 Medaliwn Rhagoriaeth, sef cyfanswm o 19 gwobr.

Welsh youngsters named among best in the world at international skills competition

Talented young people from across Wales have been recognised as world-class experts at the WorldSkills International competition in Russia.

The event is the world’s largest skills competition and took place across four days in Kazan with young people from more than 63 counties battling it out to be awarded a medal in their chosen skill.

Shanghai calling for electronics students

Four Gower College Swansea students have made it through to the WorldSkills UK national finals for Industrial Electronics, which take place at the NEC in November

Rhys Watts, Liam Hughes, Ben Lewis and Nathan Evans are all on Electronic Engineering courses at the Tycoch Campus.

“The entire teaching team is delighted and extremely proud of these students,” says Curriculum Leader Steve Williams. “The group heading to Birmingham in November is comprised of eight learners so, for half of that team to be Gower College Swansea students, is an incredible achievement.”

Rhagbrawf rhanbarthol yn rhoi myfyrwyr ar brawf

Mae myfyrwyr Peirianneg Electronig o Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi cymryd rhan mewn rhagbrawf rhanbarthol WorldSkills y DU ar Gampws Tycoch.

Roedd y rhagbrawf rhanbarthol, sy’n rhan o fframwaith cystadleuaeth WorldSkills ac a drefnwyd mewn partneriaeth â SEMTA, yn cynnwys tri gweithgaredd ymarferol – adeiladu electronig, prawf a mesur, canfod namau – a phrawf theori.

Bydd y myfyrwyr gorau o’r digwyddiad hwn yn mynd ymlaen i’r cam nesaf yn y gystadleuaeth, a’r nod yn y pen draw fydd cael eu dewis i gynrychioli Cymru a’r DU yn rhyngwladol.
