Coleg yn gwella ffocws datblygu cyflogwyr trwy benodi cyn Brif Swyddog Gweithredol Rygbi’r Dreigiau, Stuart Davies

Mae Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi penodi Stuart Davies fel ei Ymgynghorydd Datblygu Busnes newydd.

Cafodd Stuart ei fagu o fewn tafliad carreg i ystad Hill House y Coleg yn Nhycoch a threuliodd 14 o flynyddoedd yn chwarae rygbi ar y safon uchaf, gan gynrychioli Abertawe a Chymru yn rheolaidd. Ar ôl ei ddyddiau’n chwarae rygbi, casglodd Stuart ddyfnder helaeth o wybodaeth ar draws ystod eang o sectorau ac arbenigeddau busnes.

College enhances employer development focus with appointment of former Dragons Rugby CEO, Stuart Davies

Gower College Swansea has announced Stuart Davies as its new Business Development Consultant.

Having grown up only a stone’s throw away from the College’s Hill House estate in Tycoch, Stuart spent 14 years at the highest level of rugby, as a regular for both Swansea RFC and Wales, before amassing an extensive depth of knowledge across a wide range of sectors and specialisms within business.

Stuart has previously been responsible for multi-million pound budgets and sizeable tender processes, as well as specialising in strategic/business planning and risk management.

Mae Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi ennill statws Partner Dysgu Aur NEBOSH - sêl bendith swyddogol am addysgu cyrsiau iechyd a diogelwch.

Ar hyn o bryd, trwy ei ddarpariaeth Hyfforddiant GCS a leolir yn Llys Jiwbilî, Fforestfach, mae’r Coleg yn cyflwyno pedwar cwrs NEBOSH achrededig - Tystysgrif Gyffredinol mewn Iechyd a Diogelwch Galwedigaethol, Tystysgrif Lefel 3 mewn Diogelwch Tân a Rheoli Risg, Tystysgrif Genedlaethol mewn Rheolaeth Amgylcheddol, a Thystysgrif Genedlaethol mewn Adeiladu ac Iechyd a Diogelwch Galwedigaethol (NCC1 a 2).

College awarded NEBOSH Gold status

Gower College Swansea has been awarded Gold NEBOSH Learning Partner status – an official seal of approval for its delivery of health and safety courses.

The College currently delivers four accredited NEBOSH courses – the General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, the Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, the National Certificate in Environmental Management, and the National Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NCC1 and 2) -  via its GCS Training provision based at Jubilee Court, Fforestfach.

Employer event to focus on Swansea Bay City Deal and apprenticeships

Gower College Swansea is set to host a showcase business breakfast event where employers can find out more about the impact of the Swansea Bay City Deal.

The event, which coincides with Apprenticeship Week Wales 2018, will take place at the Liberty Stadium on 8 March.

The Swansea Bay City Deal is a £1.3bn investment secured by the Swansea Bay City Region for 11 major projects across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. The City Deal includes funding from the UK and Welsh Governments, the public sector and the private sector.

Minister sees local benefits of Skills for Industry investment

Skills for Industry (SFI) is supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, and aims to increase the skills levels of employed individuals by supporting the delivery of training through a wide range of courses and qualifications.

The project, in the past three years alone, has benefitted over 5700 learners and 1500 employers in the South West Wales region and continues to go from strength to strength.
